Aardwolf

Small and insectivorous, the aardwolf is indigenous to East and Southern Africa. It is well-known for having unusual eating habits and mostly ingesting termites. The aardwolf, in spite of its name, belongs to the hyena family and is not a true wolf. The interesting aardwolf, named for its characteristic vertical stripes along its coat, is an important part of its environment because it helps regulate termite numbers.
