African Elephant

Within the scientific community, the biggest land animal on Earth is the African elephant, or Loxodonta africana. All over the African continent, savannas, woods, and grasslands are home to these amazing animals. African elephants are very recognisable and breathtaking due to their characteristic long trunks, enormous ears, and gigantic structures.

Herds, or intimate family units, are the home of African elephants, which are gregarious creatures. An experienced female matriarch who leads and guards the group is often in charge of these herds. Body language, vocalisations, and infrasound—a low-frequency sound that can travel great distances—are the three main ways that elephants interact with one another.
