African Golden Cat
Native to the rainforests of West and Central Africa, the African Golden Cat, sometimes called the golden cat, is a medium-sized wild cat. This elusive cat’s stunning golden to reddish-brown coat, speckled with black, is its defining feature. The African Golden Cat’s long tail and small legs give it a strong physique that helps it manoeuvre through its home of thick forests.
These lonesome animals are mostly nocturnal; they hunt small mammals, birds, and even monkeys at night. Because of their shy disposition and the thick undergrowth they live in, African Golden Cats are seldom seen in the wild, despite their impressive looks. The protection of these majestic cats and their habitat from poaching and destruction is contingent upon conservation initiatives.
