Whales

Whales are amazing marine animals that captivate people’s attention all around the globe. They are distinguished by their enormous size and unique adaptations to living in the water. Whales with teeth and whales with baleen make up the two major groupings of these magnificent creatures, which are classified under the order Cetacea. Baleen whales, like humpback and blue whales, have baleen plates to filter feed on tiny fish and plankton, whereas toothed whales, like dolphins and sperm whales, have teeth for hunting food.

Whales are renowned for their enormous size; some species may grow to be over 100 feet long and 200 tonnes in weight. They are renowned for their protracted migrations over great maritime distances, sophisticated social behaviours, and communication abilities. Because they assist in controlling prey species numbers and cycling nutrients through the water column, whales are essential to marine ecosystems. Whales still make people who get to see them in their natural environment feel amazed and wonder, even in the face of concerns like habitat loss, pollution, and climate change.
