Zebras
Zebras are readily recognised in the animal realm because of their characteristic black and white stripes. Originating from Africa, these herbivorous creatures have a close relationship with horses and donkeys. Zebras are gregarious creatures that usually reside in tiny family units called harems that are headed by a dominant male.
Zebras can detect predators like lions and hyenas because of their outstanding vision and hearing. In order to mislead their predators, they have a distinctive defence mechanism wherein they sprint in a zigzag manner. Zebras are mostly herbivores; they can survive for many days without water by absorbing moisture from the plants they eat. By grazing on grasslands, these amazing animals contribute significantly to the ecology and preserve the delicate balance of plant life in their habitats.
